Summary
Goro Akechi fully expected to die in the engine room of Shido's cruise ship. When he wakes up in a prison cell, he's not sure what happened. To add more confusion, the wardens are offering him a chance at "rehabilitation". It's a suspicious offer, to say the least, but it has Goro intrigued.
Meanwhile, Ren Amamiya last saw Goro Akechi after the death of Yaldabaoth but he's more than happy to accept his assistance in investigating the sudden changes the new year brought. Little does he know who's truly in play.

Summary
The fallout from Halloween still rears its head in Gotham city. The revelation of Batman's identity and subsequent death may have meant the end of it for Bruce Wayne, but he left behind a family to deal with the issues that weren't resolved. Tim Drake, youngest ward of Bruce Wayne and most likely suspect for Robin, is taking the brunt of this.
Vicki Vale seems like the worst person he could turn to (after Jack Ryder) but he knows her, and he knows she misses Bruce too.

It's not constant, but if they want to share their thoughts and communicate, they simply have to think of the person (or persons) and will for the others to hear them.
Ezekiel Jones doesn't let them know that he can hear them. He never responds. The magic relies on a deep bond between them. He simply can't face knowing that they're all bonded. Summary

A year has passed since the Phantom Thieves struck down a god and saved Tokyo from a terrible fate. But when people all over the globe begin to suffer from "Paranoia Syndrome," mysterious seizures which leave them contorted and unconscious, Akira Kurusu finds himself in the Velvet Room once more, demanding answers for the affliction. His investigation leads him to the Dead Sea, the rotted remnants of the cognitive world, where all things go to be forgotten - including someone the Thieves had thought to be long gone.
Meanwhile, Akira's comatose body is found in the waking world, and his terrified friends suspect the worst. Akira's confidants struggle to learn the truth behind Paranoia Syndrome, while he and Goro Akechi approach a fated confrontation in the decaying shell of the cognitive Tokyo. Akechi had the perfect plan.
He'd been trailing the Thieves through Shido's palace for hours. They were getting tired, but kept pushing on nevertheless - and only needed one more letter of recommendation to open the door to Shido. Akechi would patiently let them do the dirty work for him. He would ambush them on their way back out, to give Joker his promised rematch and take the letters for himself after proving once and for all why he was better than all of them!
At least that had been his plan before the Thieves started to lose their current battle. Against a bunch of random Shadows, and yet they were making quick work of the Thieves. It was somehow not as satisfying to watch as he had imagined.
He watched them being taken down one after the other.
This wasn't good.
The leader of the Shadows raised his weapon to finish Joker off.
God-FUCKING-dammit!
Akechi dropped off his ledge and into the fray.

Ren's years end where they begin, on a train heading to Tokyo on April 9th.
He is not who he was, not quite. He's lived too many lives, died too many deaths, mourned too many loves. Yaldaboath twists the world each time the cycle starts anew and neither Trickster nor God could say what the world they first came from looks like anymore.
Ren starts the year over in a timeline doomed from the beginning and decides he's needs a rest. A short vacation before he skips ahead to the next year and the next chance to put an end to Yaldaboath once and for all.
Goro Akechi has other ideas.
