Sure 1000 years ago Venessa had banned him from babysitting, but he can handle this freshly traumatized seven year old.
Crepus would beg to differ. He takes one look at this “irresponsible alcoholic teenager” playing parent and decides he needs to step in.
OR: Papa Alberich gets lost and ends up leaving Kaeya with a friendly bard instead of at the winery. Venti adopts Kaeya…and Crepus adopts them both.

If anything, in the broader scale of things, it will be best to keep them out of his business. Yesterday’s comrades may well come to be tomorrow’s enemies, and so on and so forth.
But little Aino looks at him expectantly upon each of his arrival. He pulls out the container—“La Lettre a Focalors, from Fontaine,”—and watches as her wide gray eyes sparkle with an unassuming vividness to it, snatching the container from his hands in an instant. “Ineffa, it’s chocolate cake from Fontaine!” She yells, and jumps to give the Wanderer a quick head pat, before dragging him with her to the house.
The whole thing is ridiculous, really.
An uncanny partnership, born of desserts and machines.

As of now, The Balladeer and La Signora are about to start their journey to the Land of Eternity- but with the sudden death of Nathan, Pierro‘s special operative, who was supposed to help them infiltrate Watatsumi, they are down one member…and who better to send along than Arlecchino!Not like she was busy running an entire orphanage on the other side of the continent or anything. Why not send one of the other Harbingers, and have THEM be stuck with an unpleasant brat and a woman who seems to think antagonizing Archons is a good idea?
In other words: Arlecchinos voiceline about Signora made me sad. Scaramouche makes me sad in general, and a roadtrip with 2 people is boring. Hence, this thing started developing. Have fun!

He stares at the sink again, then back at Venti, who just blinks, seeming quite bemused.
“How is wine-cursing a thing you can do now?!” Diluc demands.
“Hey,” Venti says, mock-crossly. “I cultivated the God of Wine title very diligently, I'll have you know that. Unfortunately, it never gave me any useful abilities— like the power to turn water to wine! Wouldn't that have been amazing? But no, that never manifested.”
Barbatos is the God of Wind and Freedom, but also of Wine and Song. He thus has a sliding scale of wine-curses from "I lay a plague upon your house" and "may all the wine you drink be ever-so-slightly over-oxidized." He absolutely uses his wine-cursing abilities on drunk assholes at the bar.
