Summary
A shift in Sabacc as I understand it (from google and wookieepedia): "Because of the random Shifts, sabacc was a complex and unpredictable game, as a potential winning hand could turn into a losing one if not used at the right moment, and its odds were always in the house's favor."
I thought it an apt title for this AU.

Or aka: A pre-episode 2x09 'Welcome to the Rebellion' canon-insert with Perrin trying but also not trying to talk Mon out of leaving - because he knows her too well after three decades of this pendulum ride they've shared. So they say goodbye instead. Like adults. (Who grew up together from kidhood to adulthood in an unhealthy relationship where they really don't KNOW how to talk to each other - ironically, despite talking well with OTHER people ALL THE TIME.)

Metanoia: change in one's way of life resulting from penitence or spiritual conversion OR the process of experiencing a psychotic "breakdown" and subsequent, positive psychological re-building or "healing"
Andorian conversations and what-if scenes with Mon Mothma - over time and space in a galaxy far, far away.
Series title inspired by another Genevieve O'Reilly show playing a WILDLY different character that also fascinated me, but mostly made me think, "Huh... that word kind of fits all these fic tidbits I have scattered around about Mon and other characters." Because I am a big believer that small moments and interactions can have big ripple effects on a character's life or trajectory - or even just their inner world.
