There was a long pause as Wednesday tried to force her eyes to focus on Enid's. Tears were swelling, threatening to spill, making her already aluring blue shine even brighter against the dark of the night sky. Wednesday was mesmerised, she had always appreciated Enid's radiance, her light against the otherwise dull and drab world, but like this, she was ethereal.
Wednesday raised her left hand to Enid's unmarred cheek, softly wiping away the first tears that had fallen “… heart,” she breathed out before her hand softly fell away, her eyes fluttered closed.
With the final beat of Wednesday's heart, Enid's broke. She could not stop the howl which tore from her lips as Wednesday's words from so long ago flooded her head
