It’s been nine years since the Fall.
Nine years since Tommy’s brothers and father rebelled against the Compound and got themselves in an ageless coma — halfway dead. Nine years since Puffy and Dream took him in and trained him to be a hero like his family.
But it was okay, because he’s mourned and moved on and is fine.
That is, until his family wakes up and brings Schlatt’s wrath with them.
Or, superhero/journalism AU where Tommy’s past and present collide and he’s willing to do anything to save his family — even when saving one puts the other on the brink of death.

It was Tubbo who opened the door, a piglin child at his side. Over the past year, he had grown into his horns, proudly portraying his scars instead of hiding them. He gave a small smile as his eyes furrowed in confusion.
“Hi. Can I help you?”
Tommy couldn’t blame him for not knowing who stood in front of him. He had a few blonde hairs mixed in with his white, blue eyes now a cool shade of gray.
“Theseus,” he said. He couldn’t tell Tubbo the truth, couldn’t be the ghost of a boy his best friend had tried so hard to forget. “I got trapped by the blizzard outside. Can I come in?”
Or, Tommy makes a deal with Dream and returns a year later.

Tommy almost froze when he actually saw them.
He had visited the ice to watch them play many times, but never had they been this close. Wilbur, the Blade, and Philza fucking Minecraft.
“Hey, Mate,” Philza said, giving Dream a warm smile. “I watched your interview the other day, you all seem like lovely people.” He turned to Tommy. “You must be Tommy Innit.”
Tommy stared in awe. “You must get so many bitches.”
