Tachyon coughs again. She wipes at her lips with a trembling hand before looking up at Pocket with those empty, red eyes.
“Why are… you here?”

“Welcome to Fatui House.” Sandrone raises her mug in mock salute and sneers. “It’s a crap hole here.”
Rosalyne lets out another annoyed noise but the new girl doesn’t really react. She just tilts her head to the side as she continues to pet the border collie in her lap. “Is that so? It’s a really nice crap hole if that’s the case.”
The sneer on Sandrone’s face melts into a scowl. Oooookay. So not just a weird name, but a weirdo in general. Greeeaaat, just what the dorms needed. And she still hasn’t taken off those stupid sunglasses of hers, despite being indoors, in the dead of night. For some reason, that annoys Sandrone more than anything else. What is her deal? Seriously. Is it some sort of hipster thing to just wear your shades at all times now or–
Oh.
The sunglasses. The dog. The off-center staring. It all comes together in Sandrone’s mind. With a start, it suddenly hits her.
She’s blind.

A new student transfers mid-semester into Fatui House. Sandrone is sure she wants nothing to do with her, but Columbina has other ideas. -

“Your arrangement is atrocious.”
Sandrone marches down the length of the table, inspecting the layout with an unimpressed sneer on her face. She stops in front of her own seat, the one next to Columbina’s, and points with a frown.
“All those tea parties I invited you to and you can’t even plate your desserts properly. Look at them, all piled together in one sad lump. And don’t even get me started on how you arranged your tea cups.” A hand is waved, mocking and prideful, at the pitiful display. “They don't even line up with the rest of the table. Where’s the symmetry? The perfectly perpendicular angularity? It’s a travesty!”

The Knave has no stake in the former Archon’s choices. Regardless of what happens, the outcome, whether it may be good or ill, will not affect her. But still… to erase a life, to destroy the very essence of a person and let another one usurp their place… It feels damning, sacrilegious even. A mockery to all that was sacrificed.
So she asks, one last time, even though she knows the answer. One final attempt, to save a soul beyond saving.
The former Archon stares back at her with eyes that have long since given up on hope.
“What have I got left to lose?”

Summary
When Valla Women's College homecoming production of Romeo & Juliet is put at risk by their Romeo (quite literally) breaking her leg, Ophelia is only too dismayed to learn that their director has conscripted Soleil (she of the rugby team) to replace her. Simply being the campus heartthrob does not a competent actress make!
The longer Ophelia works with Soleil, however, the more she begins to see below the other woman's handsome surface. Insecurities, a fear of disappointing her artistic family, a fear of disappointing Ophelia herself, well. Perhaps Soleil is suited for the theater after all.

“You’re serious?”
“You collapsed,” Pokke said, expression softening again. “I’m serious about you not doing that again.”
Tachyon opened her mouth obediently, letting Pokke feed her. It was warm. A bit salty. She grimaced. “Did you… make this?”
“Store-bought. I’m not that amazing.”
“I think you are.”
That shut Pokke up.
Or: Tachyon’s long hours of research finally catch up to her. Good thing Pokke’s right there to pick her back up.
