Summary
The operation to the Ninth House has been a failure to all involved. Commander Wake failed to deliver her bomb, and Gideon the First failed to kill her.
He did succeed, however, in stranding her broken shuttle.
Alone, drifting without thrust or communications in deep space, Wake has dwindling options. There’s a limited supply of oxygen and food. There’s no way to tell if rescue is coming.
And the cryochamber housing her undetonated bomb had to go and fucking break.

Summary
A very long time ago, she had desired a Cohort drop-ship, a front line to trample and spill blood on. A place to swing her sword, and appear sexily with a blaster. Mostly, she wanted to get the fuck away from the Ninth.
Funny how that had worked out.
The Ninth herself slipped in through the gap.
Gideon considered now, I would kill anyone who tried to take me from her.Gideon and Harrow finally get called on to fight.

Summary
Harrow couldn’t have been sleeping, which left Gideon with two options: she could leave Harrow to her tossing and turning, giving Gideon more time to introspect on the way she breathed. Or, she could be direct and call her out on it.
Well, Gideon was never very good at introspection.

Summary
Bilba has been a slave her entire life. All she knows of the outside world is what she sees from time to time outside the gates of Moria and the stories her mother used to tell her. Stories of a place called the Shire where her mother once lived and a placed called Erebor where, as far as she knows, her father still lives. Stories of dragons a thousand times larger, and more intelligent, than the beasts the orcs rode and of a strange concept called freedom where one was allowed to live as they wished with no one to tell them what they could, or could not do.
The stories meant little to Bilba. The only future she had was to live, and die, as a slave as countless number had before her.
And then the orcs dragged an injured female firedrake through the gates, her rider screaming obscenities behind her as he fought to reach her side...and everything changed.
