    Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian get betrothed at the age of fourteen, and it is decided that Lan Wangji will spend a year’s time in Yunmeng to get to know his fiancé. It is a difficult time for Lan Wangji, who is used to the regimented lifestyle of the Cloud Recesses. He meets Wei Wuxian, who grabs him by the wrist to drag him to fun places, or to row boats down the lazy summer river, or to shoot kites. He grows closer to Jiang Wanyin and Jiang Yanli, and learns of their charms.

    Most of all, he learns about Wei Wuxian, who is thoughtful and bright and nothing like anyone else Lan Wangji has ever met before. He has a brilliant mind and a smile that rivals the sun, and Lan Wangji falls in love with him gradually, over bowls of too-spicy soup and lotus seeds.

     
    Or, the one where Lan Wangji goes to Lotus Pier when he is fourteen in order to get to know his betrothed, Wei Wuxian.

    Jiang Cheng wrote three times a year for over a decade and a half requesting that Lan Sizhui come and visit. Finally, at nineteen, arrived, having absolutely no clue why the sect leader would want him to come. Jiang Cheng showed him to his quarters, opened the doors, and said, "This was your father's room."

    Suddenly, Lan Sizhui finds himself in the home of the father he'd forgotten, but surrounded by his things. With the relics left behind by a man shoved into shadows by an awful war, Sizhui has to figure out who his father was and why people refuse to say his name. Possibly, he and his friends might even bring him back from the dead.

    “Wei Wuxian has Hanahaki disease,” Lan Wangji said quietly, after he’d been given some refreshing lotus tea and everyone except him and his sister had left the room.

    Jiang Cheng’s breath left his lungs and he felt a little bit dizzy.

     

    Or: Wei Wuxian develops Hanahaki disease shortly after getting married to Lan Wangji, who rushes to Lotus Pier to seek Jiang Cheng's help. Everyone pines. That's it that's the fic.
