Shane takes some deep breaths, trying to sound normal again as he goes to press the button to unmute. But as he looks at his phone screen, he realizes there's no line through the microphone on the the call that Hayden is still very much a part of. Which means -
“Um, Hayden?” Shane asks as he brings the phone back to his ear, feeling all the blood drain from his face.
There's a few beats of silence before he hears his best friend practically shout, “What the fuck, Hollander?”
or, at the cottage, Shane forgets to press 'mute.'
