That is until she meets a girl with fiery hair that will make all of her nightmares and insecurities go away.

Nico woke up wrapped up in a blonde wolf. A real, not dead, definitely breathing wolf with very sharp teeth. A very real, very alive, very sharp-toothed wolf that also happened to be lovely and warm compared to the frozen forest atmosphere and cold blanket.
That wasn’t probably the point.
People, normal people, didn’t wake up with wolves curled up around them monstrously huge puppies, did they? Nico stayed still, her mind now racing and her heart hammering in her chest.
All of her thoughts cut off as the wolf yawned and shifted, blue eyes blinking open to fix her with a stare. “H-Hi there.” Nico whispered, now terrified.

Summary
In the empire of Rokensera, land is everything. The country’s great tracts of land were parceled out to the nobility, and the vast number of umamusume amongst the nobility built racecourses on their land for the glory races. The seventh-crowned emperor, Symboli Rudolf, is set to change the glory races, to the nobility’s chagrin.
Among the houses that supports the emperor’s mandates of change is the Mejiro house, with its duchy’s roots as old as the empire itself. The reigning duchess, the young Mejiro McQueen, receives a letter from Emperor Rudolf after expressing her support. To her surprise, the letter is quite lengthy, and soon after the letter arrives, so too does the crown prince, Tokai Teio.

Summary
Snow has once again fallen upon the streets of Tokyo, Christmas decorations showed up in every window, and another annual Arima Kinen is right around the corner — and a year is soon going to pass since Tokai Teio's miracle run. Reminiscing about the day that changed her forever, Mejiro McQueen slowly and steadily enjoys her retirement life, nuzzling into her girlfriend's chest when they watch seasonal B-rated movies and cuddle under warm blankets together. At last, she's really happy. She thinks so.
But a year has also passed since the crown jewel of Mejiros' slipped out of its place and cracked on the cold ground — and her heart, desperately yearning to run again, starts getting harder to ignore. Walking through the freezing city and hearing the snow crack under her shoes, warmed only by the feeling of the miracle Teio has given her last December, McQueen decides to do something really stupid. Recklessly and subconsciously, her mind seems to absolutely ignore the brace still tightly covering her knee as her trembling legs speed up, making her feel alive again.
This year is going to be hers. This year, it's her turn to give Teio her unreachable miracle back.

Summary
Taking a deep breath, Rumi sought to ground herself. Things were going great!
A week had passed, the honmoon was still golden and holding strong, none of Gwi-Ma’s minions had resurfaced, and now Huntr/x just had to focus on singing their chart-topping hits and having fun. Even Bobby had an extra spring in his step when he’d visited them yesterday.
Except…things weren’t 100% all that great. At least, not from the vibes Rumi had been getting.
Sure, Mira and Zoey were acting like everything was back to normal, but she felt that they hadn’t fully tackled what it truly meant that Rumi was an actual real demon. Or half a demon. That categorization eluded even her.
It was the proverbial giant tiger in the apartment, and after all they went through, Rumi promised herself that she was done hiding and skirting around the truth. She wanted her friends to trust her, and for them to know unequivocally that nothing had changed.
