"Date night," Tim says again. Pictures Jason in full Red Hood get-up at some cutesy candlelit Italian bistro, holding hands over a plate of spaghetti. "Oh my God."
"I should have let you get blown up," Jason says, contemplative. "It builds character, you know."
Speaking of blowing up—"You almost let a bunch of teenagers pull a Riddler because you wanted to make kissy faces at your…" A pained, deliberating pause. "Uh. Partner?"
Jason lets out a long, disgruntled breath. "Boyfriend," he finally says, each syllable punching out of him reluctantly. "He's my boyfriend."
"Ohhh," Tim says, nodding slowly. Jason knuckles at his forehead. "That's cool." Another horrifically strained beat. "I have one of those too."
Jason glances up at him again, head slightly canted, before he finally says, "Oh shit, that's right. Dick mentioned something about that." He tilts his head a little more. "I didn't know you guys were, like. Still together."

As Jason stood there, staring at the Wayne Manor front door, pristine envelope clutched in hand—he wondered if he should go through with this at all. Maybe he should just give it to Alfred, and have him pass it along to Bruce. Or slip it under the door and run. Better yet, maybe he should come back another day—
Jason shook his head. No. He said he would do this. He promised himself. Another chance.
For his own sake. For Bruce’s. Maybe Dick was right; maybe it was okay to hope.
Jason takes on his biggest challenge since his Red Hood debut: pursuing a college degree.

Damian frowns at him. “No?”
“Real tall guy,” the Joker suddenly pipes up from the holding cell, “white streak in his hair. Kinda looks like Bruce Wayne, if you ask me!”
Damian blinks. “Oh. Well, I do know a Jason that fits that description, but his last name is not Todd.”
“What the hell is it then?”
Damian frowns harder. “Al Ghul.”
And just like that, Bruce’s worldview goes to complete and utter shit.

Or: Jason decides that if someone has to be a monster in this world’s shadows, it might as well be him. This decision might’ve been influenced by the fact that Talia al Ghul decided to spring her son on him and also gaslight everyone into believing that Jason is her eldest child. Also, he kills his pseudo-grandfather and kind of accidentally becomes the new R’as al Ghul, because by now, he’s way too deep in Talia’s con-shit to back out.
…It all goes over surprisingly well.
