Varian; the Prince of Corona, the (secretly adopted) son of King Fredrick and Queen Arianna, has a few problems he needs sorted out; he doesn’t feel worthy of being a Prince, the boy he was raised with is turning into someone he may or may not like, and even worse, he really doesn’t wanna be king someday.
Hugo; The trusted Equerry of the Prince, best friend of the Prince, son of Captain Donella of the royal guard, and he has a few problems too. Something he had wanted since he was young isn’t super appealing anymore. Now all he wants is a life of adventure, and of Varian.
Eugene; Please for the love of the sun SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAT IS HAPPENING (for the majority of the plot) I DIDN’T SIGN UP FOR THIS CRAP

Summary
Please read "I can die when I'm done" first!
When Varian is finally released from the hospital, he and Hugo are ready to confront the cult that has haunted their lives for far too long. Their leader is dead, the group weakened, and the time for reckoning has come. Fueled by grief and an unrelenting hunger for vengeance after his mother’s death, Hugo is willing to pay any price to bring the cult to its knees — even if it means losing himself in the process.

This story is inspired by the Death Note Musical (not anime) but can be read without any knowledge of said Musical. This is a sequel. There is a story related Spotify playlist and pinterest pin board in the chapter notes.

“Something has been stolen from us,” Thanatos said, his wings puffing up as he spoke. “Something that is very important to us. And we are fairly certain that the person who stole this thing of ours is in this very crowd.”
Dream tensed beside Tommy as the crowd broke out into murmurs. Eyes were darting towards the different heroes in the crowd, the benefactors no doubt assuming that the culprit had to be a hero.
“Like we said, we haven’t crashed your party to cause trouble. But we want this thing returned to us, and we won’t hesitate to take extreme measures to get what we want.”
or, Tommy was a lot of things: a newly debuted hero sidekick, an amnesiac, and a former kidnapping victim of the Syndicate.
Tommy didn't actually remember that last one though. That was just what Dream told him.
Only weeks after his hero debut, the Syndicate announces they are searching for something, and Tommy knows it has to be him. The scariest part? If they find him, Tommy will have no clue what to expect, because the Syndicate might know him, but he has no memories of them.
So he can't let them find him. No matter what.
Of course they end up finding him anyway.

“It wasn’t a trick of the light,” Techno murmured, his eyes wide as the glowing got brighter.
Wilbur’s heart pounded in his chest as he looked down at himself, and realized the freckles dotted along his arms had started to glow. When he made the effort to see the outline of his nose, he noticed that the freckles on his face were glowing as well.
“Was he doing this last night?” Phil asked, unable to tear his eyes away from Wilbur’s face.
“Uh, no, he definitely wasn’t,” Techno told him.
“Holy shit, I get it now,” Tommy whispered, and Wilbur could just make out the outline of his glowing face in the reflection of Tommy’s eyes. “You’re an alien!”
or, Wilbur wakes up in a ditch with two brothers shining a flashlight on his face, and no memories of who he is or how he got there. And that's only the start of the weird shit.
