Summary
Thomas makes a startling discovery upon receiving some possessions of his late mother, which sets to change him and his life at Downton for ever. As he struggles to deal with his past, he also has to deal with his ever increasing feelings for Jimmy, which he knows are not reciprocated.
Takes place some time after the incident at the fair but before season 6's nasty episode (trying to avoid spoilers!) Slightly AU, in that some of the character's backgrounds have been altered and some birth dates have been changed- I spent quite a long time trying to work out what years some of the characters would have been born and checked with the facts that I had as much as I could but I've had to alter things a little bit! It shouldn't change things too much!

Summary
After miraculously surviving his suicide attempt, Thomas Barrow still can't see any reason to live. If he could still bring himself to be angry, he'd be furious at Baxter and Andy for keeping him here out of their wretched guilt, because it surely can't be for genuine love. If he could still bring himself to want anything, it'd be to be loved; to be recognised as a good man, free of a reputation that marks him as an outcast. Because that's what he is: a pariah, an outcast, a misfit.
And he does, at least only partially. All of a sudden he finds himself finding a comfort he'd long since forgotten from a mysterious, strangely-deessed man who meets him in the woods and is not at all discreet about his romantic interest in Thomas.
Meanwhile, the Legends get a hit on an anachronism on the 7th of August, 1925, in Downton Abbey . . .
