Summary
Alhaitham and Kaveh try to unlock a mystery machine that Cyno and Tighnari found outside of the city by combining their elemental energy, leading to... unexpected effects.
“Hm... dangerous?” Kaveh asked, tracing a line of text with his fingertip.
Alhaitham shook his head. “Not dangerous. Just... difficult. The one or two successful records are described as -” he hesitated as he scanned the opposite page quickly. Intimate. Overwhelming. Like two souls intertwining. He snapped the book shut before Kaveh could read that far and cleared his throat again, more gruffly this time. “- a challenge.”
Stretching his arms above his head, Kaveh set his wrench down on their coffee table and straightened. “Well, let’s try it. If it doesn’t work, we’ll stop. Simple.”

Nodding off as the alchemist refined some concoction that he had explained about two dozen times but that Kaeya still barely understood.
“Archons… I… I think I’m an idiot.”
Klee gasped, “Kaeya you said a mean word!”

He pulls out his cards, and then Kaveh watches as Alhaitham pauses for a second, blinking quickly. Like trying to focus his eyesight. He had only had two glasses, hadn’t he? Surely Alhaitham wasn’t already feeling the alcohol. He was not a lightweight like Kaveh was.
A night in the Tavern goes awry, fast.

Summary
Alhaitham’s noise sensitivity is usually manageable.
Until a fungus incident ruins his headphones, and the back-up pair is in for repairs. A trip through the bustling market leaves him frayed, and even home offers little relief from Kaveh’s project noises and a neighborhood party.
When Alhaitham finally snaps, it’s up to Kaveh to realize something’s wrong, fix the headphones, and unknowingly bring him comfort in more ways than one.
