Adam really does feel like a trapped rabbit in this dark, cold warehouse. He thinks of how easy it was to get in here, how easy it’s been to follow Lawrence around without detection, how Lawrence’s closet was open that night and practically begging to be looked in, and it hits him like a freight train that this was all just another test. It was nothing more than a lure around his neck, pulling and pulling, seeing how far into the darkness he’d go before putting up a fight, before he realized that he shouldn’t be here.

Summary
The tip of the fox ear twitched, catching Izuku’s attention. The ear looked soft. It was the same shade of red that Kacchan was when he was in fox form and had a spot of white at the very tip. It was large, about the size of Izuku’s hand. The more he studied it, the more Izuku was tempted to touch it. It wasn’t often that Kacchan had his guard down enough to let Izuku touch his ears. The fox familiar allowed him to rub them every now and again, but was more often than not quick to nip at Izuku’s fingers before streaking off in a huff.
The temptation grew until it was too much. Izuku lifted his hand from Kacchan’s hair where he had been playing and petting the strands. He extended one finger and touched the tip before quickly swiping it down the edge of the fox ear. Instead of a little twitch, the ear flicked, dipping forward and down, then to the right and out. The movement was a little unexpected but Izuku couldn’t help himself as he repeated the motion on the ear, smiling as it flicked again.
“Stop touching it.”
