“Guess I’ll hold you to that.”
(in which husk and angel in the 1930s band together to hunt down a mysterious game and hide out from bounty hunters . . . while growing fond of each other in the process.)

"No distractions."
It was a phrase Angel had heard a million times in a million different ways. Even as it was screamed in his face so intensely he could feel his coach's breath, Angel couldn't disagree on the logic behind it. Professional figure skating required just as much sacrifice in Hell as it did on Earth, even if it resulted in continual loneliness.
The Pride ring's ice hockey team didn't seem to be bound by the same expectations, though. Maybe the scoreboard suffered for it, but morale didn't seem too bad. Even if the team's hot center player sometimes had a grumpy streak.
No distractions. But, Angel could make friends, right?

Or, the AU where professional sports exist in Hell, Angel is an up-and-coming figure skater determined to make a name for himself, and Husk is a core member of an ice hockey team on a consistent losing streak.

By some awful scorn from the universe Angel Dust is pregnant. To make matters worse it’s Valentino’s. He knows what he should do. He doesn’t think he gets a choice, but Husk thinks he might.
(Basically back to back angst and trauma of Angel dealing with a pregnancy from his abuser and trying to navigate parenthood in impossible circumstances.)
