So, here’s the thing about Kat and love.
She doesn’t believe in that fairytale shit. The drastic shit that makes people throw their lives away for someone they barely know. There’s nothing romantic about changing little things about yourself just to get someone to notice, or risking derailing your entire life for a summer fling. Besides, even if people get together, doesn’t mean they should stay together. Corey and Dylan are living proof.
But then Kat met Swann, who is sweet and weird and a little bit messed up in ways that Kat understands. And maybe, somewhere along the line, Kat got those butterfly feelings in her stomach that Dylan’s advice magazines talked about. Maybe she felt a gratifying sense of relief whenever Swann was around, and wanted to share her world with her, and woke up thinking about kissing her.
Maybe Kat could fall in love with Swann Holloway. Maybe it wouldn’t hurt.
Nora asks Kat to write a love song for Bloom & Rage. Kat goes through an emotional roller-coaster when all the songs keep coming out about Swann.
