The tears formed in his eyes as he gained a new wound – not a plain crater like from impacts in the past, but instead a sluggishly oozing gash in his still-cooling surface.
He didn’t know his planet – their name, their personality, or anything, really. None of that mattered to him now though.
No matter that he only ever saw bigger beings protect the smaller ones – as long as he was the only one awake, he would continue to shield his planet.
OR
Luna is well-known to be protective over his planet. His much larger planet. This pattern is seen nowhere else in the system between moons and their much more massive planets. Here's one way I explore how this could have happened in the time right after the Theia-Proto collision.
