Summary
The thing is, right, that when you come from a family like Tim’s, where any affection at all is seen as unnecessary and not validated as a need for a person, it’s hard to pinpoint what a healthy relationship should look like. And Bruce definitely had not been in the right headspace to care for him correctly, or at all really. Paired with Tim’s conviction that Batman needed a Robin, well, it was practically fate that things started spiraling out of control quickly. This marked the start of the probably unhealthiest relationship between a Robin and Batman to date. (Yes, even including Jason, because everything with him happened after his death, not before.)
