“Contemplating your inevitable loss, baby Black?” James murmured, his messy curls brushing Regulus’s cheek.
He whipped his head up to look at James, whose eyes were big and brown behind the gold of his glasses.
“In your dreams Potter” he retorted, keeping his tone cool despite the heated feeling in his gut. He hated the effect James had on him, hated how his very presence made his stomach flip and his heart flutter.
“Every night sweetheart”. Regulus’s brain froze. And ok, what the fuck? Did James just... try to flirt with him? He desperately tried to fight the blush he could feel creeping up his cheeks at his words, at the dimple in his left cheek as he grinned down at him. This was ridiculous. James had no right to smile at him like that. He needed to shut whatever the hell was going on down, now.

James is the captain of the London Lions soccer team and Regulus is the clubs newest addition. James thinks Regulus is the most beautiful person he's ever seen. Regulus thinks James is a pain in the neck (or does he?), and James decides he needs to win him over.
