Summary
Atsushi’s boyfriend was certainly a surprise to everyone at the Agency. Everyone loves the guy. He’s charming. He’s sweet. He’s respectful. Though most importantly, he cares about Atsushi and makes him happy.
And if Atsushi was happy then why shouldn’t they be happy?
That made sense right?
Dazai should be happy for him. He was happy for him.
He liked seeing how bright and happy this person made him. Liked seeing the way his face would light up whenever his boyfriend would walk into the office bearing lunch or flowers. Or the way he’d smile in the brightest, most beautiful way whenever they’d talk. Or the way he’d laugh around him and it’d be so genuine and pure.
Or…the way Atsushi would look at him. And it would be the softest and most tender of expressions. Soft in a way that he had never seen before…
In a way that he’d certainly never reserved for Dazai before….
Why did it bother him?

“Afternoon, kiddo,” the man, tall and lanky, with thick dark curls, said lightly, as if they were old friends. “You don’t look so good. Feeling ill, are we? The younger man took a step back.
“I’m fine,” he huffed, looking for a way around the towering stranger, but he had purposefully walked Atsushi into a corner.
A simper curled on the brunette's cracked lips, and he licked them, making Atsushi’s heart slam against his rib cage.“Of course you are.”
Fuck I need to run, I need to get away, get away right now!
But his legs wouldn’t move. No matter how he screamed internally, his body wouldn’t respond. “Ya hungry, kiddo?” The man cooed, close enough to touch Atsushi now. The younger man swallowed as an ice-cold hand grabbed his shoulder, forcing him to stumble forward. To his utter despair, his stomach rumbled loudly, and the man chuckled. “That bad, eh? Well, don’t you worry. I’ll fill you right up!”
Aka Dazai is a serial killer and Atsushi is his next victim, who might just become the best thing to ever happen to him.

Besides, clearly they are soulmates to have found each other again in a new life, this was the obvious course of action!
