Peter was tired of being the universe's punching bag. Couldn't the poor guy catch a break? After the events of Kindred, a nice calming patrol seems like a great idea. Nothing could go wrong so soon after right? Norman is reformed, Kingpin as far as he knows is keeping his hands clean. No super world ending events on the horizon...a patrol sounds nice. It’s been a few months since Norman Osborn’s supposed "death". Summer’s almost over, and senior year is approaching
Peter Parker should be happy. But in all honesty, he’s not
Gwen Stacy, the girl of his dreams, decided to stay with Harry Osborn out of pity. And Harry hates Spider-Man for having "killed" his father and is jealous of him as Peter Parker
He broke up with Liz Allan, the girl he’s been tutoring and whom he has developed genuine feelings for, in a misguided attempt to start dating Gwen, and now, she hates his guts
And speaking of hating his guts, Black Cat still hasn’t talked to him after what happened with her father
It all ends up becoming too much for the poor hero, who decides to end it all
But in a surprise turn of events, not only does Peter survive, but he also gains new powers and a new perspective in life. So now, he’s decided to stop wallowing in self-pity and start making a difference
Look out, New York! For the Spider is ready to bite back!
