"Wow." She keeps her eyes looking out at the view, it's like nothing she's ever seen before.
"Don't ruin it, dummy." Catra giggles as she says it though, a tinge of awe in her laugh.
"Do you think anyone has ever been up here?" She wonders.
"Probably not. Kyle's scared of heights; he'd hate this." Catra informs her gleefully.
Adora laughs. “Probably.” She looks around the desolate spot they just discovered. “What if this was our place? You know, somewhere we could hang out, just us?”

Adora can't help but laugh at the notion. "You saw me teach, you know it doesn't work that way." She rolls her eyes. She then takes Catra's hand, slowly bringing her palm to touch the clay on the workbench. "But I'll tell you what. If we make our pottery lesson next week a date instead, I'm open to it." She teases.
Catra turns her hand so she's holding Adora's hand instead of the clay. "You don't have to try that hard to get a date Adora, but who am I to say no to an offer like that?"

The plan was pretty simple actually, get purposely caught and dragged in by Horde soldiers, Catra would come find her wherever she ended up. What she hadn't been expecting was to see Catra sitting on the throne.
The soldiers deposit Adora on her knees in front of Catra who looks, well, frankly, she looks bored. She has her hand against the side of her head, her elbow bent against the armrest as she examined Adora lazily. "Well, well, well," Catra says as she sticks her foot under Adora's chin, lifting it up. Adora's steely blue eyes narrow at the woman who smirks in response, her fangs peeking just over her bottom lip. Adora hates how good she looks right now. "What do we have here? Adora? Bound and gagged? It's not even my birthday."

Adora dances through the strands of time programmed into the system. The first week, she jumps forward just a year or two — 2042, 2043, just before the breakup, back when they were still happy. In 2051, she sports the short, choppy haircut that was popular at the time. In 2066, it’s long, and dyed at the tips. She’s twenty two, over and over and over again, each weekend spent experiencing that age right on the cusp of adulthood as she weaves in and out of time periods, searching for Catra.
In the summer of 2044, she wanders past a sports bar and sees her own face, sweaty and breathless in an interview. Adora remembers this video — it was taken just before she received her first Olympic gold.
Adora keeps walking. There’s no way Catra would choose to be here.
________Adora has never had much interest in the Etheria program, a virtual reality simulation in which those on the verge of death and dementia can relive their glory days, dancing side by side with the consciousnesses of the deceased — but when she runs into a familiar face while visiting a dearly departed friend, she finds herself tumbling back into a romance she thought she had lost decades ago.

Adora stretches moving her arms above her head and reaching up to the tips of her toes. Without further delay she reaches down and deadlifts the box up, using her momentum to toss it over one shoulder, the other hand resting on the box's lid. The arm that's around the bottom of the box is straining, all of those glorious muscles jumping to attention.
"So where do you want me?" She says innocently, bicep bulging on the side of the plastic box. Oh, to be that box.
"The attic?" It's meant to be a statement, but it comes out as a breathless question.
"Alright! Be back in a jiff." Adora huffs. As she passes by Catra she places a chaste kiss on her cheek. Catra watches Adora’s ass while her loveable dork whistles as she walks out of the living room. Catra shakes her head as if to clear her vision. What a woman.

"They look like plants. You know. Green." She said slowly, just to bother Adora. Even Catra’s purposeful teasing couldn't phase Adora in her blissful state.
"They are green." She agreed happily practically bouncing on the balls of her feet. "I'm practically a plant lesbian!"
Catra thought about mentioning that she'd taken to watering them periodically but shrugged it off.
"Two cacti does not a plant lesbian make." She dolled out her sage advice instead.
"I know! I'm getting at least another succulent today! Maybe two." Her eyes brightened with the possibility. "I mean, I'd just been trying so hard and now they are flourishing. Maybe it's the better natural lighting in the new apartment?" She shrugged as she slid the sandwiches onto plates, placing one in front of Catra.
"Could be." Catra hedged. She watched Adora continue to hum and shake her head to the beat, ponytail bobbing as she tucked into her grilled cheese. She was the picture of happiness and it warmed Catra to her toes.
It wouldn't be too much trouble to water a few extra plants, Catra reasoned.

Adora clears her throat. "I'm actually going to be taking a step back from tennis at the moment."
A hush falls over the crowd and the reporter’s eyes bug out. "What do you mean?"
"I'm pregnant. The doctor cleared me to play in this tournament, but I won't be able to play for the rest of this season." The crowd gets louder with raucous applause for Adora and she waves at her fans. "That's about all I have to say about that. I've always kept my personal life personal, and I intend to continue to do that. I hope to be allowed that by you all."
The reporter nods quickly. "Well, congratulations on your win and on your baby. I know I can speak for all tennis fans when we say we will miss you on the court."
Adora’s smile turns sad. "I'll miss being on the court more than you all can possibly imagine but—" She slides her hands down gently touching the protruding bump "—some things are worth taking a break for, I think."

"Yeah." She's honestly mostly thrilled Catra remembers her name without the context of the bar to help her remember. "What brings you to this ice cream shop?" She's hoping that maybe seeing each other in the light of day might give Adora a better chance at snagging a date or hangout with the brunette.
A shadow crosses her face. "I don't—"
"Mama!" The little voice is authoritative and relieved and a toddler makes their way to Catra, putting their hand in hers. Adora feels her eyes widen as she looks at Catra and the kid she assumes must be hers.
Catra sighs. "My kid wanted a treat after doing well at their doctor's appointment." She looks down and gives the child a small smile. "What flavor do you want?" Her voice is different, patient and soft, not at all the sultry rasp Adora imagines when she thinks of her.
"Strawberry." Adora bites her lip to keep from cooing at how the 'Rs' sounds like 'Ws'.
"A kid. That's um—that's cool." She'd never thought about children in more than a vague notion that could maybe be in her future.
