The comet was only a few days away and the Gaang needed their rest. Only Zuko and Toph had a different idea and went off for Toph's well-deserved life-changing field trip with Zuko to destroy the ass-lords house.

“After I reconquer Ba Sing Se,” Uncle Iroh says, smiling, “I’m going to reconquer my tea shop, and I’m going to play Pai Sho every day.”
Zuko nods and tries to imagine the world of tomorrow. Will Uncle get his shop? Will Ba Sing Se be saved? Will it be peaceful, happy, everything Zuko has never known? Or will they be corpses, ashes still smoking somewhere in his father’s fire nation?

Summary
Zuko still almost can’t believe the turn of events. Less than a day ago he was a slave of General Bujing and every day was full of pain, violence, and the ever-present cold from both the loss of his firebending and his grief of Uncle Iroh’s death with no end in sight.
And now he somehow has a set of four very protective friends in Katara, Sokka, Aang and Toph and he’s agreed to teach the Avatar firebending despite the fact he can’t do so himself any longer. But teaching Aang will help bring balance to the world and it’s what Uncle would have wanted and Zuko will do anything to honor Uncle’s memory.
And with their support and his own hope fueling him to try to reignite his inner flame, Zuko is determined to firebend again. All he needs now is a little… spark.
