Summary
I wanted a gentle Counterpoint post-ep. So, I wrote it. Not that I don’t love a good angsty Counterpoint post-ep. More friendship than romance but there are hints if you squint. So, where Chakotay is a friend and a professional and gives Kathryn the space to reassemble.

Summary
Chakotay walks into the Mess Hall a little past 0400, a determined but cautious gait in his step. The room is darkened from its supposed lack of use, and a few streamers still hang lazily along the bar from the confetti bursts hours earlier. He even spies the odd champagne glass or two lingering on the tables, but knows this will all be spotless before the breakfast rush begins so he isn’t concerned. What he is concerned about, however, is the huddled mass on the couch in the corner, and the mostly empty bottle of whiskey sitting on the floor beside it.
