Summary
After watching the first Harry Potter movie, he stared at a glass on the dining table for 10 minutes, trying to move it with his mind. His siblings called him an idiot as they always did, but he didn’t cry this time. The anger simmering in his heart would be used as fuel for him to move the cup, stoking the passionate fire within him. 10 minutes turned into 20. Then 30. His siblings had gone off to continue with their research, and he was seriously considering giving up to go do something more productive. He took his eyes off the glass for a second, caught it falling off the table from the corner of his vision the next. It shattered into tiny pieces like his mind. He ran to the rest of his family to scream excitedly about it, receiving responses from each member more exasperated than the last. They didn’t believe him, it was probably the wind or him accidentally knocking it over, but he knew and kept the memory close to his heart even years afterward. In hindsight, the look his parents shared that day didn’t hold exasperation or disappointment. It held fear.
