"What if I don't even know what that is?" Dean grumbles, arching an eyebrow in challenge. "'Cause I know damn well you don't just mean good food and a good bed and time in Baby, not simple wants like that. You mean—ya know, the big things, the wants we didn't get to have before."
"Yes," Cas agrees. "If you're not sure, figure it out."

Captain America wakes up from the ice in 2013. The Winter Soldier wakes up in 2009, or rather defects from HYDRA, for a value of defect that’s closer to decimate. He ends up working for SHIELD. In April 2014, he’s assigned to Captain America’s mission as a sniper.
Steve’s just trying to get some kind of life together. Bucky is too, or at least he was until tall, blond and Captain shows up and starts just - being there, all the time. It’s terrible. It’s the worst. He has to do something about it. -

And Wei Wuxian is no longer suffering from the lingering effects of a haunting, so there will be no reason for Lan Zhan to medically spoon him, so therefore there will be no boner contact involved, and nothing will be awkward. Just two bros half a meter apart in a bed because they’re definitely gay but not actually involved!
Wei Wuxian’s leg very nearly bounces itself into a nervous blur before the bathroom door opens again, and he forcibly stills it and stands up, waving at the bed in the most welcoming way he can. “Wall side’s all yours!” he says, for absolutely no fucking reason, and resists the very valid urge to slap himself in the face.
“Thank you,” Lan Zhan says with a sincere little nod, possibly because he’s used to Wei Ying being an absolutely useless fuckface.
Or: A sudden storm, a convenient cabin, a single bed, and the inevitable outcome.

Something smells so good. Wei Ying closes his eyes, already feeling sleepy, and tries to identify where the scent is coming from. He turns his face to one side and then the other, chasing it, until his nose touches Lan Zhan’s cheek.
He pulls back quickly, not freaking out, because it’s fine. He touched Lan Zhan’s cheek with his nose, and Lan Zhan smells really fucking good, and they’re lying down together on a very soft bed because Lan Zhan is too drunk to let go of him, and Lan Zhan is gay but Wei Ying isn’t, and it’s fine.
Wei Ying swallows hard and closes his eyes again.

Wei Ying helps Lan Zhan out of an uncomfortable situation, and they grow close right away, becoming instant friends. To Lan Zhan, they become instant something else. With time, they only get closer and closer, and Wei Ying is forced to deal with his own feelings about Lan Zhan, and his perception of his own sexuality.
