“I get what you did. I get why it was necessary,” Apollo says, frustrated.
“So you get why I can’t apologize for doing it,” Phoenix says, heavy. “Because I’m not sorry, Apollo, and I’m not going to do you the disservice of telling you something I don’t mean.” He gestures at Apollo’s bracelet. “You would know, anyway.”
Silence falls.
“So you get why I can’t stay here,” Apollo says finally, something awful colouring his voice. He shoulders his bag and turns. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Mr. Wright.”
Apollo wants to leave the WAA and asks Phoenix to be a reference, prompting conversations that Phoenix should have had a long time ago.

Phoenix and Miles struggle to make the wedding work, and they even consider a discreet courthouse wedding. However, with their love and devotion for one another, they eventually find a way to make it all work.
