basically you have a grandmother with no filter that has to work with Georgia, a teenage girl, David Tennant, and a bunch of his characters! absolute chaos

During the year that was doctor is forced to relive painful memories by the master, constantly tortured by the ones he lost as he grows weak and tired.
The master meanwhile has developed over the years an unhealthy obsession with the doctor, he was always obsessed, that's why they broke up after all, but this is a whole new level of infatuation
Martha is on the run from the master and teams up with torchwood to save the day
and Jack is stuck in the basement
(basically the master who's even more crazy than usual has the doctor strapped to a chair for the whole year and so his muscles deteriorate whilst he relieves his childhood, Martha's off trying to save the world and find the torchwood team

It was cold, in this new world. A world of darkness and fuzzy shapes. Of only his heartbeat and and his quick, panting breaths. Or, was he still breathing? He wasn’t quite sure. He wasn’t quite sure of anything, really. Was he even thinking? He wasn’t sure of that either.
He gasped sharply in a vain attempt to inhale enough air to sustain his rapid heartbeat. It felt as though his heart and lungs were racing against one another, and the finish line was unconsciousness.
