    "The fuck are you doing, Harrington?" 

    "Getting comfortable." Is the only response Eddie receives before Steve's head lands on his shoulder, half on his chest as he scoots up in the bed. Eddie freezes, mid air guitar solo, and frowns. 

    "Personal space, dude." He's so proud of his voice for not cracking when he says it, "Heard of it?" 

    Steve snorts and takes a puff, smoke clouding around his mouth before he blows it away, lips pursed in the air. "Don't think you're one to talk about personal space but I'll move if you want."

    Steve Harrington didn't hate Eddie Munson; that was a common misconception. One that Steve had never tried to rectify, really, but still, Steve Harrington didn't hate Eddie Munson, and he was fairly sure that Eddie Munson didn't hate him back. So why was it that everytime the other boy gave him that infamous grin, there was a sinister feeling in the pit of his stomach?

    Okay, maybe sinister wasn't the best way to put it. Just the feeling of something being off, like there was some piece to the guy he was missing, some clue he hadn't quite slotted into place.
    It had been around four months since they'd defeated Vecna, and Steve had put that behind him, he swore. But when he thought about what Jason had said, about the devil possessing Eddie, Steve wasn't so sure he was wrong. Not because he plays Dungeons and Dragons, or wears a leather jacket, or any of that nerdy crap. Just because when their eyes meet, there's that undeniable feeling.
    Steve had learned to trust his gut, when things got weird, and his gut told him that the devil lives within Eddie Munson.

    But again, Steve didn't hate the guy. It was just...

    It’s kinda nice, all things considered. Every once in a while, Eddie remembers that they are here because an entire town thinks that he is a devil-worshipping murderer ,and that Steve put his entire life on hold to be with him, oh, and can’t forget that the whole reason he was accused in the first place is monsters are real and there’s at least one shadow dimension that tried to take over their world. He misses his uncle sometimes. He misses the kids. But all things considered, he’s doing okay. Especially with Steve by his side.

    Steve and Eddie hide out in Chicago while the Hawkins crew clears Eddie's name. Feelings ensue.

    After the last two years of suffering and inter-dimensional threats, Will only wants to spend a nice summer with his friends. Too bad they are too busy with their new relationships. With Dustin now away for summer camp he dreads the eternal afternoons of fifth wheeling and being ignored.

    After everything the happened last summer, Richie's mother thinks it's best if he visits family for a while. Anything to get him out of a town that was clearly getting to him, even if Richie doesn't think she knew why. He dreads being away from the only people who can understand.

    Or, Will and Richie meet when they need each other the most.
