Alone, Chishiya allowed himself to take a shaky breath. The stark coldness of the room made him miss the warmth of Arisu’s and his tent, the many blankets forming their little nest, and the security of being wrapped up in Arisu’s arms. He also thought of Kuina’s smile, and Usagi’s quiet strength. He hoped they were all okay. He knew they would try to find him and wouldn’t stop until they knew where he was.
But that didn’t mean he would have to sit and wait. He’d let this crazy Borderland doctor think he accepted his fate. He’d play the part of this perfect med student all while watching and waiting, gathering information and exploit their weaknesses. It’s what he’s always done.
