Summary
Ghost nods sharply, biting the inside of his mouth. He can taste blood. Watching Johnny, with his bright, sparkling eyes and beautiful smile, Ghost wonders if he will be the final nail in his coffin; the final sin to send him to hell.
He is thirty-three, and he can’t remember the last time he was given a hug. In some ways, that feels like dying too.
“Okay.” Ghost says, throat still raw. He cannot forget the bodies that haunt his childhood home like vengeful ghosts. Sometimes, he wonders if he will go back there and find Soap’s body there as well.
“Okay,” Soap says.
He leaves without saying another word, and Ghost cannot help the arms he throws around himself; the closest thing he has to a hug.
