Summary
Once upon a time, the stories go, the sky was full of stars and the moon was bright. They protected the world from an unending darkness. All they asked in return was that humans protect the young stars, known as Aether, as they grew until they were strong enough to fight.
A pact was made and things were in balance, until a fateful expedition into a strange yellow wood changed everything. The moon disappeared, the stars stopped falling, and the sky began to grow dark.
Minho has heard the stories. They’re one of the few things he remembers besides needing to put distance between himself and the capitol city Miroh, that he likes cats, that he’s forgotten so many other important memories, including his full name.
When he sees a falling star and finds Jisung, the last Aether to fall to earth, Minho starts on a path to answering the questions he has forgotten and figuring out why he seems to be at the centre of so many mysteries.
Balance is broken. The sky is dark, the stars almost gone. The only certainty Minho has is the magic at his fingertips, the deep-rooted belief that it always has a price, and that he wants to protect Jisung’s light.

Summary
In his kingdom, alpha pairs are… tolerated in silence at court, sometimes joked about in private. But it’s not discussed openly.
Alphas are meant to lead. Their role is to protect the more gentle gender, reproduce and provide safety for their family. Any deviation is frowned upon— especially by a prince.
So it doesn’t matter if Minho thinks Prince Jisung is the most beautiful person he has ever seen, because he doesn’t make his own choices, and he’s not allowed to form an opinion that doesn't match the unspoken rules of his kingdom.
Or: Prince Minho is ordered by his father to make a diplomatic visit to another kingdom. There, he discovers magic, fate, and, most importantly, himself.

Summary
Jisung was never allowed to be alone with alphas. Chan was terrified that they might pounce on him and mate him on the spot. A highly unlikely scenario but the rule stood either way. The only exceptions to this rule were his brothers—obviously—and his personal guard Lee Minho.
