When you spend a lot of time with small children, you tend to pick up on certain phrases and habits that people don't generally use with adults. Eggsy spent a lot of time raising Daisy: he knows all the tricks. From giving stickers for good behavior to adopting a certain tone of voice when he really means it, Eggsy knows the "dad" playbook by heart. The problem is that that's not exactly something you turn off.
Or: The story where Eggsy talks to the other candidates and knights the same way he does to Daisy and they respond surprisingly well.

Summary
Arthur wakes up to find a de-aged Merlin sitting in his room- a Merlin with no memories of Camelot. The knights all offer to help- but the one thing they can't understand is why Merlin seems so scared of 'the knights in the red capes', and why he keeps pleading with them not to burn him.
As Merlin begins to get his memories back, the knights find out more and more about their friend while he remembers and reveals his life in Camelot.
I'm not great at summaries, but please give the story a shot!Edit: I just saw that this story has a little over 10,000 hits, which is absolutely mindblowing! It's so humbling to envision a concert's worth of people reading my fanfic, and I am so grateful for all of you. The meal went well. Draco and Neville talked about the ‘Lord of the Rings’ and how far they were up to with occasional commentary from Hermione - the book series was recommended by Harry and they’d already devoured the previously recommended book, ‘The Hobbit’. Harry was enthusiastically telling Susan Bones about “the one time I won an axe-throwing competition” that Hermione kept glancing at him nervously over.
Well, the meal was going well until Professor Quirrell burst into the Great Hall, “Troll! Troll in the dungeon! Thought you oughta know…” and fainted right where he stood.
