Summary
Before Gallatin has even finished his sentence, Cahir's knife is cresting upwards towards his throat. It is kinder, thinks Cahir, to allow his friend to have his last moments before death be ones not of fear - even if not giving him a fighting chance feels overwhelmingly unfair. Sickening, even.
And then it's happening. His blade is sliding into Gallatin's throat, a look of betrayal etched into the elf's eyes while he struggles to breathe as blood floods his trachea and down his neck-
Except that's not what happens at all.
No, instead, in a stunning twist of fate and a show of skill that he thought not even Gallatin was capable of, Cahir's knife is ripped from his hand by the blade as it nears Gallatin. It is, perhaps, easier than it otherwise would be as surprise slackens his grip, but the show is impressive nevertheless.
Of course, Cahir barely has time to have that thought before the look on Gallatin's face darkens and he is being unceremoniously slammed up against the wall, his own knife now pressed to his throat.
Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck.

"Join me," he says.
In another world, Eleven might've said no. In this one, she hesitates, just for a second. But, as we all know, a second can change everything.

Summary
Darcy always knew death would come for her in the end - it was a simple fact of life she'd accepted early on. Inevitable. Maybe it would be a car accident, or in her sleep, or even stumbling accidentally over a balcony after one-too-many drinks.
Yes, those were all ends within the conceivable realm of possibility: all ways to die that wouldn't hold your average newspaper-reader's eyes for more than a few short moments - ordinary. Never could she have guessed it would have turned out like this.
Never like this.

Summary
What if Voldemort attacked both Neville and Harry that Halloween night?
The world crowns Neville as the Boy Who Lived. Harry is presumed dead, lost in fire and legend. But far from magic, a boy with strange powers grows up unseen, unnamed, and forgotten. And in the shadows, a fugitive godfather risks everything: prison, death, and worse; for one impossible goal; to give Harry a name, a future, and a home.
A Name in the Ashes is a canon-divergent take on the “Wrong Boy Who Lived” trope, told with a focus on emotional realism, character depth, and slow-burning tension. It avoids character bashing in favour of layered perspectives; people may clash or fail each other, but no one is villainised for the sake of plot. Though not a crack fic, the series carries a thread of humour, especially through character dynamics and interactions.
Part One of “The Seven Names of Harry Potter.”
Spans from Halloween 1981 to just after Harry's tenth birthday.
A quiet beginning to a larger story of identity, memory, and found family.
No pairings.

Summary
When the Boy-Who-Lived stood in the middle of the clearing, waiting for death with terrified yet resigned eyes, the Dark Lord Voldemort thought that he had finally won. That he could now shape the world the way he was always meant to do, with no Dumbledore, no prophecy, no boy with green eyes stubbornly standing in his way. He raised his wand and confidently cast the Killing Curse and, once again, his life fell apart.
OR
When Harry chooses to come back to life, he takes with him the entirety of Voldemort's soul. In doing so, Voldemort's mind and body reset to the time right before he made his first horcrux; he is seventeen again, and does not seem to remember the horrors he has committed. The Light wins the war, and is left with an impossible decision. What should be done with Tom Marvolo Riddle?

Summary
When Voldemort hits Harry with the Killing Curse in the Forbidden Forest, it fails yet again. Only this time, the problem is that instead of ending a life, it creates one.
--“Harry Potter,” he says softly, tasting his prophesied killer’s loathsome name on his tongue. “The Boy Who Lived.” Come to die.
A pause. And then, he utters the fateful words. “Avada Kedavra.”
First, everything goes green.
Then, everything goes black.
When the Dark Lord regains consciousness, he hears before he sees, and the first thing he hears is crying. Why is there a baby crying?
