“Had to pick someone else up,” Tim announces as he enters Jon’s field of vision, dragging a soft-looking boy with blond curly hair by the hand. “This is Martin. You should kiss.”
“Tim,” Jon snaps.
Martin turns bright red.
Jon is an exhausted pre-med student dragged to a party, where he meets Martin Blackwood, a poetry major who turns out to be excellent at drunken cuddling. It would be perfect—if Jon hadn’t caught him making out with Tim, that is. Chaos, idiocy, and polyamorous pining ensue.

“Did you have a… secret past life?”
Martin snorts. “As if I had the time.” He shakes his head, turning back to the task at hand. “I wanted to, but I was mostly boring, you know? Go to work, come home… the worst I did was get a tattoo.”
Jon feels his need to know almost take him out at the knees; where? Of what? Why? When did he get it? Between Martin’s brief sojourn in document storage and their awkward first night on the sofa, Jon’s seen most of him—where is it? Forcing himself to be normal about this, he nods stiffly. Words gather in a landslide against his teeth and he clenches his jaw, brows raised in an expression that he hopes exudes polite curiosity.
From Martin’s smirk, he misses the mark by a mile.

"No, no, no, it's okay," says Martin, once he's peeled his eyebrows back off the ceiling. "You're good. I, I actually appreciate it?"
