Summary
"You don't see the problem," Buck says finally, in as measured a tone as he can, "with getting married to me. For tax purposes."
"Not just tax purposes," Eddie says indignantly, like that's Buck's main sticking point. Buck finally turns his head and looks at him. Still stupid. Still beautiful, in a light-colored Henley that makes his skin glow, his long fingers curled around the neck of the beer bottle resting on his knee. His big brown eyes and the encouraging little smile on his lips, like he's offering Buck a special treat, instead of a lifelong fucking commitment of platonic marriage. Buck wants to kiss him, or maybe strangle him. Either one would serve Eddie right.
Or: Eddie proposes marriage (platonically). Buck spirals.

Summary
"It's not what it looks like," Buck blurts.
Bobby's eyebrows reach for his hairline. "So you weren't violating the one-firefighter-per-shower regulation?"
"We," Buck sputters. "I mean, okay, yeah. We were, but we—"
"We were figuring out breakfast," Eddie cuts in.
"Well, next time, figure it out in different stalls."

Summary
Buck asks, "Where is your dad?"
"He's downstairs buying sodas," Christopher replies. He sits down next to Buck and points at the magazine. "Why are you reading Bridal Guide?"
"Oh." Buck flushes a little. It's not like he can explain: I realized I'm in love with your dad and keep accidentally planning a wedding we're never going to have. "It was this or Golf Digest."

Summary
Prepared, Eddie ticks off the facts on his fingers. “We’re trapped underground, no way anyone topside is getting to us before our air runs out, not with all the other people up there who need saving, and the only way you’ll be strong enough to get us out is if you feed. What more do I need to know?”
Buck’s face falls, fight starting to drain out of him like bathwater circling a drain. His eyes are sunken into their sockets, and his irises are enlarging, the dark limbal ring around them getting more pronounced. He’s stopped pretending to breathe, so still where he sits. When he speaks, Eddie catches the flash of fangs. If he’s too tired to even try to appear human, he needs this even more than Eddie expected.
“It’s just… if I feed off of you, it’s gonna, uh… you’re going to feel it.”
“Feel what? Your teeth? Yeah, I expected as much, Buck.”
“No,” Buck rubs a hand over the back of his neck, clearly embarrassed for some reason Eddie can’t parse. “No, you’re gonna feel… turned on. You’ll probably get, uh, h-hard, and you probably won’t be able to help it. You’ll lose all your in-inhibitions, and you’ll need to get off.”
Oh. Oh, well, yeah, he supposes that does add another layer to things.

Summary
He turns around. Eddie is watching him, his eyes glittering, an odd set to his jaw.
"Unless you do want me to walk you through it," Buck says, and there's something in it, some dangerous impulse he can't define that makes it come out not at all like the joke he meant it to be. Standing here in the entryway of the house that's Eddie's house again, in the spot where he dragged Tommy through the door, clumsily attached at the mouth, kicking it carelessly shut behind him. Keys rattling, and the simple animal comfort of someone's eager hands on him. The empty house, barely unpacked, briefly less empty.
