    House shrugged. “Unless there’s some better way to hurt myself. Are you gonna prescribe me a beating every time I need a fix?”

    Wilson finished wrapping his hand but didn’t let go. House studied Wilson, shoulders tense, gaze thoughtful, heavy even, but averted.

    “Wait, you’re seriously thinking about it?” House said.

    “It’s no crazier than breaking your hand!”
