It’s Kip. Real-life Kip, not the dream version Scott has been silently arguing with in his head for the last six weeks. Real Kip with his denim jacket that is not warm enough for New York, and a knit hat that is doing nothing to tame his wild curls. Real Kip, who is looking at Scott with a far too sad smile.
“Hi,” He says from where he’s still standing in the doorway, stuck there with one foot in Scott’s life, and the rest of his body out of it. He looks awkward and windswept and more beautiful than he’s ever been before.
