Ugh, the food really does smell good. “Lunch?" Emma echoes, sitting down as uncivilizedly as she can. "It’s already two in the afternoon."
“Yes, you were behind schedule." The queen aims a judgmental stare down the length of her perfect nose. "Don’t worry, I accept your apology.”
“You're the worst,” Emma mumbles around a mouthful of salad.
“What was that?”
Emma swallows. “I said, this is a first.” She wishes more people fed her before trying to kill her.

All her life, Emma wanted only to belong. And just when she finally starts to get her wish, everything begins to change. Henry's no longer a kid who needs her like he used to. Her parents have a new child. She herself seems to have acquired something resembling a boyfriend. And Robin and Regina are in a relationship.
Emma doesn't know what to do or how to feel about these changes. So she starts running. Not too far away, and never for long enough to cause her family worry. Just far away enough and for long enough to protect not only them, but herself.
Until the day when that's no longer enough.
