Summary
Namgyu's life working at his parents' jumak is devastatingly boring. Every night is just the same as the one that came before it—serving wine to customers who barely spare him a glance, playing music no one wants to listen to, yearning for just a hint of excitement to keep him from losing his mind. That excitement appears to him one night in the form of a charming scholar with a loud voice and an unusual personality.

Nausea, fatigue, cramps, mood swings, frequent urination, and a surprisingly sore chest, despite not having any breast tissue for the past three years. All the crap he’s been feeling for two weeks now, but Subong absolutely doesn’t need to know all that. Namgyu keeps his eyes trained on Subong’s chin as he says, “I’ve been throwing up a lot.”
“For how long?”
Two weeks. Not that Subong would know. Namgyu’s been doing a fairly good job of swallowing back the nausea, at least until yesterday. Now, it’s multiple times a day, every day.
Namgyu says, “Since this morning.”
Subong tuts and pokes Namgyu’s cheek with the thermometer. “Then why’d you go to work, Gyoo?”
Because Namgyu’s been going to work every day for the past two weeks like normal, despite having to frequently pause his tattoos to take trips to the bathroom. Because he was panicking this morning and didn’t know what else to do. Because the last time he checked, pregnancy isn’t contagious.
