AKA the fic where Robert starts the plot out
A) astronomically wealthier than the canon (think Tony Stark without the blatant Enterprise tied to him. Still has the daddy issues tho)
and B) far less willing to accept the lowest denominator when it comes to choices.Personal note: I cannot WAIT for Flambae to be brought to the hilltop villa because I KNOW he's gonna choke on his tongue and then demand why he got taken to the witness protection apartment first

He knew it would take long, but by the time his gorgeous ride was restored to her former beauty, he’d A) become a hero, B) helped save Torrance from the Shroudpocalypse, and C) started dating his dispatcher who happened to be the guy that both ruined his life and saved it.
And now here they were in a 24-hour self serve car wash in the middle of the night–him, his hot boyfriend, and his hot car. What else was there to do other than fuck the hottie on the hottie?

Shroud was once Elliot Connors - unofficial mechanic to Mecha Man v2, hidden husband to Robbie, and father to Robert Robertson the Third. While he turned a blind eye to the lacking qualities of his husband for too long, he loved his boy more than anything.
And then the suit injured his boy. And then Robbie blinked and saw the continuation of the family legacy rather than a child. And then Elliot frayed and snapped with sound of gunfire and the smell of gunpowder.
Because Mecha Man was a danger to his beloved son, so he has to make sure it would never hurt him again. No matter the lengths taken or cost.

Prism shrugs. "Hey, I'm just tellin' you like he told me. That's the word he used, and he looked embarrassed as hell." She sits back into her side of the both. "You're the one wants the man to fuck you, you should probably use your big-boy words and ask him. And soon, we're supposed to hate-watch Drag Race, but it doesn't work if he's already in a bad mood."

Robert kills Shroud. It should be an easy thing, a simple thing, the conclusive reconciliation to a years long struggle and hunt. The final punctuation mark in the final line of the story.
He took the action needed to end the cycle; he should feel some sorrowful guilt it all came to that, but satisfaction the heroes prevailed in the end.
But that's the thing...Robert doesn't actually feel that bad about killing Shroud. How fucked up is that?
Or, the morality of whether someone should live or die after doing terrible things and putting people through hell and back really isn't as cut and dry as everyone wants it to be. And that's ok.

The one where Robert and Janelle are de-aged and have skill sets that most average children don't. Unfortunately, neither know anything about the current world they find themselves in and are thus convinced that threats are around every corner. The good news is that they've got each other.
As of ch. 8: The kiddos are safe in SDN with the Z-Team, and the agents tracking them have asked the questions they needed to. The culprit's still out there, but at least they know enough about the world that they're safe with allies. (They're about to get their hearts ripped out of their chests as they realize that neither kid had normal upbringings)
