Summary
Catching a glimpse, Eddie is absolutely certain he's seeing Steve Harrington, wielding a nail-studded bat. Taking zombies down, one by one, hand-to-hand, as others are picked off by what sounds like a shotgun. Harrington's crazy. Fighting up close like that. Not running while he has the chance like Eddie, Jeff, Gareth and Goodie are doing right now.
And they do run, that's always Plan A. They strategize each move, voting as a group, as if they're planning their next roll of the dice. But they definitely do not fight hand-to-hand unless they've been backed into a corner with no other possible way out.
Steve Harrington getting up close and personal, swinging his big dick of a bat around? Eddie's not surprised, even if he thinks it's way too risky. Way too stupid.
But at least that means there are other survivors.
They aren't alone.
And for some reason it feels right that Steve Harrington is one of them. King Steve, still holding court in Hawkins, somehow.

Will unhooked the radio from his belt. Nervous energy coursed through him, and he took a deep breath before answering. “Yeah?”
“You okay down there?”
“I’m good. You?”
“Me too.” Then, a little bashful: “I got you something.”
Will’s face hurt from trying not to smile like an idiot. “Really?”
“Guys,” Lucas cut in, exasperated. “Get your own channel if you’re going to flirt.”
Mike confesses his love in subtle ways at the end of the world. It takes a minute for Will to catch up.

this felt like a fresh breath of air after the series finale. would it hurt the duffers to pull of this kind of mastery?
anyways, season 4 finale re-write, steve and the curse of the time loop but you know how you like things a bit vague/not overly explained? yah, the best of it is here. you can come back here if you're looking for a good steddie, lumax, platonic stobin perspective, and finally a fuckin good write for el/hopper reunion. 10/10, dropped a point for leaving it at the third chapter, later added for finishing it there.

and honestly, I think the brothers stole a bit from your story. the chapter name, karen wheeler bloody footed in the kitchen, and some section that I tracked all the story again but couldnt find but the vibes are there? I dunno, very good read my liege.
