Summary
Max bites his tongue against a laugh, as he gets close. He reaches out, then quickly pulls his hand back before he makes contact, as an alternative occurs to him and he instead leans in to blow a sharp breath against Charles’ ear.
Charles lifts his head with a jerk, a ripple of discontent across his shoulders, and there’s only the sparest moment between when he sees Max and when his hand swings back, lightly smacking Max against the arm in retaliation. “Max?” He hisses, his eyes trailing up and down Max’s front with evident judgement against his last-last season suit trousers, or whatever. “What are you doing here?”
“Community service,” Max says, as he settles in beside Charles with a crooked turn to his mouth. He admittedly may have bought something new, if he had known Charles would be here. “You?”
“Oh,” Charles intones, nose slightly curling, as he turns to look back out against the crowd while slipping his phone into a pocket. “Ferrari obligation.”
Max grunts under his breath. “This is what you get.”
Charles hums a low question.
“For saying you do not want to do service with me.”

Summary
The four of them were sharing the chairlift. By fate or coincidence, Oscar was seated between Charles and Lando, with Max beside Charles. The chair had barely started moving, when Oscar quickly realised that pairing Charles and Max was like throwing a lit match onto a pile of dry leaves. Utterly and truly disastrous. Competitive didn’t even begin to describe them.
“Think you can keep up?” Max asked smugly, nudging Charles. “Or are you gonna embarrass yourself?”
“Me?” Charles scoffed. “Are you sure you are not talking about yourself?”
Oscar merely raised an eyebrow, silently observing, as was his forte. They’d been like this all day so far: teasing, snipping, trying to one up the other, and yet, somehow unable to leave each other alone.
