    Summary

"It just works better like that. Taking his mind off of the logistics and the meaning of it all and the implications lets him put that focus to better work on the actual thing he cares about: hockey. It really isn’t that different from outsourcing his branding to Mom, or any less embarrassing than his dietician meal prepping for him or his trainer mapping out his workout plan. They’re experts in their field, nutrition and marketing and fucking. Shane is an expert in his: taking all that into his body and using it to be fucking awesome at hockey. It’s win, win, win.

Meals get delivered at his door. Room numbers and plans get texted to him. And appointments with photographers get emailed with subject lines reminding him to remember to use the good shampoo in his hair before them.

He’s still in control in the sense he’s letting it all happen for him, except that sometimes, especially at these stupid fucking photoshoots, it feels a little bit like it’s happening to him, instead."

Shane gets into a bad situation with a photographer who has pictures Shane would rather not get out. Ilya and Rose find out about it, eventually.

    Summary

When Shane Hollander looks into the future he sees— not a flat sheet of ice, not that, not anymore, but something equally as empty.

His backup plan was always to go to university. He hadn't thought he'd ever need it, not really. Especially not near the end, when everything felt so certain. But his grades were good, his mom made sure of that, so when he woke up in the hospital he already knew what he was going to do next. But after?

There's a standard path people take, he knows, that comes after school. But when he tries to picture it, slot himself into the picket fence and the corporate overhead fluorescents, it disappears. Like it was never going to be real at all.

(Or: after ending up at a jazz bar to celebrate the end of finals season, Shane Hollander finds himself where he never thought he'd be— in the orbit of NHL superstar Ilya Rozanov.)

    Summary

Their lips slide together, then their tongues curl and she moans, a light, heady thing, come alight with the realization that she is finally, finally home. It’s tender at first, but at the sound of her moan Coriolanus grabs her chin in between his fingers and plunders her mouth harshly. As if this is a punishment.

You left me, every kiss he gives her, takes from her, breathes. You left me.

    And Lucy Gray—

Well. For her this isn’t a punishment at all.

Or: Lucy Gray and Coriolanus can't seem to let each other go.
