    Putting up with Seifer’s antagonistic bouts of unchecked emotion only pushed me to get stronger... The thought of beating that guy and wiping that smug grin off his face served as a good motivator, and he made for a good sparring partner—I wouldn’t exactly call him my “rival”, or whatever weird thing that self-described “romantic” guy called it... But Seifer’s shitty attitude made me want to train harder to make something of myself, that’s all I needed to know. I still don’t understand what his weird obsession with me is...

    One time when he was being an asshole he called me an “Ice Queen”, but... Somehow that made me remember our weird joint training mission with Trabia Garden, to that isolated village in the northern snowfields... I always thought it was a fever dream brought on by hypothermia—a dying woman in a heavy fur cloak reaching out to me, a blinding snowstorm, the harsh sound of the wind... then I woke up fevered in the village inn. Sometimes I still dream of a howling arctic wind... I don’t know if that really happened, or what it means...

    He can see ghosts, which means he still has family. Still has Shisui, and all the aunts and uncles and cousins and distant relatives he didn’t even know before. Still has mother, her kind smile and her knowledge. Still has father, as well, although Fugaku stays distant most days, wallowing in regrets and things that make the air around him terribly cold.
    Sasuke is glad, selfishly, for that small mercy.
    He could have lived without the ghost drama, though.

    Sasuke who can see ghosts au. So he hangs out with his dead family. He ends up better adjusted overall as a result- I mean on the whole... definitely seems creepier to the average outside perspective though. It has a lot of interesting interactions between characters.
