Childe nodded as he continued to eat. But something seemed to dawn on him, causing him to put down his spoon for a moment. “You know, this is the most you’ve talked to me of your own accord.”
“Perhaps I find it curious that you would want to come to a tea parlor.”
“What if I said I was genuinely curious about what it was like during the day?”
“Then I would not believe you,” Zhongli said bluntly. “There is something more you are here for.”
Childe leaned forward, resting his arms on the countertop. “And what if I said I was here for you?”
Or: Zhongli runs a tea parlor in the center of Liyue. The trajectory of his life changes one evening when he catches the eye of a certain debt collector.

Summary
Childe's life post the Osial incident has settled into something of normalcy. He has a comfortable (if not a bit boring) 9-5 job at the bank, he has loads of free time to waste, and he gets to experience whatever Liyue has to offer, at his own pace, frequently accompanied by Zhongli.
However, this idyllic picture is shattered the day Childe receives a letter from the Tsaritsa, summoning him back to Snezhnaya, immediately.
He is crushed by the news. He has expected it – it was bound to happen, eventually, but the message still daunts him. How is he supposed to say goodbye to Liyue so suddenly? How is he going to say goodbye to Zhongli, the only person he can call a friend?
To his surprise, the god offers to travel with him, and so they set on a journey to the northern lands of everwinter. They just forget about one important thing – reptiles don’t do well in freezing cold.
Which is why Childe now has to deal with his own grumpy Archon, the constant scheming and bickering of the other Harbingers, and a very sleepy and very clingy dragon.

Summary
Guizhong has once told him that she thinks he'll give it to someone he loves. To someone that would care for him. To someone that would give him the world and not take it from him. To someone that would give him everything he would ever ask for just as how those doctors took it from him.
He thought it was ridiculous. He thought it would never happen, with the life he had. He never once thought he would find love. Platonic or romantic. That he would never find it because he's undeserving and who would dare love someone like him? Who's been touched and been so... ruined for everything?
That carried on even when he's left whatever that hellhole was. When he entered the arena and further destroyed whatever remains he had. No one would love him. No one would look at him and think that they've found their person.
Until he met Childe.
