Childe's life post the Osial incident has settled into something of normalcy. He has a comfortable (if not a bit boring) 9-5 job at the bank, he has loads of free time to waste, and he gets to experience whatever Liyue has to offer, at his own pace, frequently accompanied by Zhongli.
However, this idyllic picture is shattered the day Childe receives a letter from the Tsaritsa, summoning him back to Snezhnaya, immediately.
He is crushed by the news. He has expected it – it was bound to happen, eventually, but the message still daunts him. How is he supposed to say goodbye to Liyue so suddenly? How is he going to say goodbye to Zhongli, the only person he can call a friend?
To his surprise, the god offers to travel with him, and so they set on a journey to the northern lands of everwinter. They just forget about one important thing – reptiles don’t do well in freezing cold.
Which is why Childe now has to deal with his own grumpy Archon, the constant scheming and bickering of the other Harbingers, and a very sleepy and very clingy dragon.

But through these incidents, they become what Kaveh calls friends and Wanderer calls looking after the idiot so Alhaitham won’t resign from being Grand Sage.

TLDR; Heizou accidentally calls Kazuha to save him from his fever. And even when they weren't as close as they used to, Kazuha actually came to save him.
