He looms over her, so close she can smell the whiskey on his breath. As she stares up at his hat-clad silhouette, a strange feeling shoots through her body, causing a twinge between her legs and a tingle in her spine. She stands rooted to the floor, unable to think, unable to move.
He doesn't move either, except for his gaze. It roams her face, drops down to her neckline, jumps up to her face again. His anger seems to bleed away, and in its place something else creeps in. Something complicated and frightening.

Summary
Post S3. It's been over two months since the Battle of Starcourt. Billy Hargrove survived, but he's not sure he should have. Scarred in body and mind, he has no idea who he is anymore. He spends his days drinking and fighting until Neil, incensed by his son's behavior, throws him out of the house.
Hopper and El come to the rescue, taking Billy home to live with them. Their compassion is unnerving... and exactly what he needed. However, as he adjusts to his newfound "family," he realizes something isn't right. He still feels the Shadow's call, urging him to kill.
Little does he know the Shadow doesn't need him to obey. It has another piece on the board, waiting to strike.

It’s just semantic. California has done well for itself, but it will be a while yet before they have an up and running marriage registry. But for all intents and purposes, Lucy Howard (she started using his name without permission) is his wife.

He knew that shadow on the horizon. Recognised the taste, the telltale tang of metallic radiation in the air.
Radiation didn't hurt ghouls, persay, but a man could be too healed. Too... vigorous. It made everything sharper, more overwhelming. Made you angry, sad, but most of all, it made ghouls like him want to fuck.
And the Vaultie? Little Miss Prim and Proper?
Well an innocent, sheltered virgin like her wasn't going to be interested in helping an old ghoul like him out with the all encompassing, burning, heat-like effects of that radiation... would she?
