Having a lab partner might be the worst idea in human history, and Jayce is no stranger to shitty ideas to begin with.
But right before the class starts, a slight man with disheveled auburn hair rushes in. He sweeps his gaze across the room—Jayce's now backpack-free seat is the only one available—and there is a horrifying moment where Jayce locks eyes with the newcomer and thinks, "his eyes are pretty" and "fuck he's going to sit here" and "that's okay because his eyes are pretty" all at once.
